After the People’s Choice Awards last Wednesday, members of the public got a chance to honor Hollywood at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards.

“Boyhood” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” earned the top film prizes for drama and comedy or musical, respectively, at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s 72nd Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night. “Boyhood,” which tied “The Imitation Game” with five nominations, clinched three awards; one for drama film, another for director Richard Linklater and a third for supporting actress Patricia Arquette. Five People Shot During Chris Brown Show

At least five people have been shot at a Chris Brown concert on Sunday in San Francisco, California, USA. A real massacre started at the Fiesta nightclub where the R&B singer was performing, when five of his fans were wounded by the unknown. Mobile phone footage shows Brown singing surrounded by his security as dozens of fans are enjoying the show.

Then, suddenly, gunshots ring out, sending everyone including Chris into panic. He is immediately taken away off stage by his bodyguards. People begin screaming, crying and fleeing the club while some shout “get down” and lie on the floor. Three more shots are heard and the camera pans round to show people covering their heads and lying on the floor. After awhile police arrived on the scene, they detained several people but no arrests were made. Five victims with arms or legs wounds were admitted to hospital, all of them are expected to survive. The singer is believed to be unhurt as shortly afterwards he tweeted “I’m 100″.

Jay-Z Acquires Boxing Promotion Company

Rapper Jay Z, through his Roc Nation Sports, has completed a deal to buy promoter Gary Shaw’s company thereby giving Roc Nation a steady stable of fighters.

According to ESPN, the deal, which had been in the works for more than a month, was finalized around the time Roc Nation Sports was conducting the weigh-in for its first card Friday night at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, which is headlined by welterweight prospect Dusty Hernandez-Harrison against Tommy Rainone. It is believed that under the agreement, Gary Shaw Productions will be absorbed into Roc Nation Sports including most of the contracts of the 20 or so fighters he promotes and Shaw will run Roc Nation Sports’ boxing division along with chief operating officer David Itskowitch, who joined the company before it announced in August that it would begin promoting boxing. Shaw told ESPN, “I have joined the company. I really do think that they can do for a fighter what nobody else can by strength of their entertainment and music talent and the athletes they represent. When someone says they’re with Roc Nation, it really means something. They’re at the top of the game, and being with Roc Nation will elevate the boxers.” Other athletes managed by Roc Nation Sports include: Robinson Cano, Kevin Durant and Dez Bryant. The Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria has continued to trigger great concern from Nigerians and the outside world at large. Much has been said about the incumbent government not doing enough in securing the lives and properties of her citizens. The disastrous bombing and killing of over 150 persons with hundreds still missing on January 9 in the city of Baga, Kukawa LGA, Borno State, left many crying out for peace in the troubled country (Nigeria). Amongst which are American female Hiphop rapper Nicki Minaj and singer Solange Knowles (Beyonce’s sister). They two both took to their twitter account to send a heartwarming message to Nigeria for the recent Boko Haram bombings and Kidnapping. The rapper and singer tweeted about the loss of lives in Nigeria.
