London - Chelsea's John Obi Mikel who is reportedly in transfer talks
with Fenerbahce of Turkey, will be replaced by a Chilean at the Premiership champions when the transfer is done.
Manager of Chelsea Jose Mourinho has reportedly landed Chilean midfield powerhouse Charles Aranguiz from Internacional, in a deal reportedly worth 22 million Euros to bolster his midfield options, ahead of the defence of their Premiership title defence.
Obi joined Chelsea in 2006 after a protracted transfer battle involving Manchester United who claimed to have signed the Nigerian from Lyn Oslo of Norway, on his 18th birthday a claim the player's agent questioned and finally got him a move to Chelsea.
The Nigerian has so far failed to be a regular at the team and in the last 18 months his game time has been heavily limited by the impressive combo of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas.
He reportedly turned down a move to the Middle East and after almost 350 games for Chelsea he is set to join Fenerbahce according to Ersin Duzen, a sports presenter for TRT Spor’s Futbol Günlügü program, Fenerbahçe sporting director Giuliano Terraneo held talks with the Nigerian in London regarding a potential move to the Turkish Süper Lig.
